The device does need firmware: dvb-fe-ds3000.fw
See the instructions for obtaining the firmware for the dvb-fe-ds3000.fw here [1]#Firmware.
unrar it and copy dvb-fe-ds3000.fw firmware file to /lib/firmware/
Driver
The driver is not yet include in the vanilla kernel.
The card is supported by the s2-liplianin v4l branch.
