Hi there
Seems like we share the hobby of Linux and playing with DVB cards and programs ;-)
Hardware I'm using:
- DVB-T: Pinnacle PCTV nano Stick (73e) - slick and neat.
- DVB-T: TwinhanDTV Digital Terrestrial TV Card Ter - worked nice for over 3 years, until it gave up the ghost. Probably plugging in and unplugging my room aerial to the mains caused some voltage hikes that burned a chip, oh well.
- DVB-C: Twinhan VisionDTV Mini Cab DVB-C PCI - I seem to by lucky that it works for me...
Software
I watch live TV with Kaffeine or gxine. Otherwise I mainly used my cards with VDR but without the software device, as I only use it for recording, not watching live TV. I use the very nice web interface vdr-admin for scheduled recording -- I especially like the auto-timer feature, which records good films automatically when they're on (using keywords, e.g. the movie title).
