The Multimedia Home Platform (short MHP) is a standard, defined by the MHP Consortium, that specifies a Java-based interactive media content format for use in Digital TV transmissions.
MHP is a middleware standard build on a Java subset. A subset of MHP called GEM (Globally Extensible MHP) is the basis for CableLabs' OCAP middleware and the Blu-Ray Middleware
