Revision as of 09:28, 5 September 2008
This page is dedicated to the proposed fourth version of the Linux DVB API.
Background information
In order to make it easier for people to understand what all this is about we suggest that the following documents be read :
- Linux DVB API v4 documentation snapshot: The current API documentation can only be generated from the source code. From time to time, we will release snapshots of the documentation in http://linuxtv.org/downloads/linux-dvb-api-v4/. ... the most recent version, dated 2005/04/15, is available here.
- API header files from the public dvb-kernel-v4 CVS repository: http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/dvb-kernel-v4/linux/include/linux/dvb/
- Sample applications from the public dvb-kernel-v4 CVS repository: http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/dvb-kernel-v4/apps/test/
Development Status
When development left off:
- the dvb-core was ready and working, with the basic features implemented and tested (basic frontend, demux, audio and video decoder handling, section filtering, recording filters and memory playback).
- The reference TTPCI PCI DVB driver was currently non-functional.
Contact
Please ask any technical questions on the official linux-dvb mailinglist. If you're unsure and want to speak to one of the project members personally, you can mail to Michael Hunold <hunold@linuxtv.org>.
