Quick rundown on what I'm running. I have not fully tweaked everything to my liking, but the basics are certainly working.
CPU: Pentium 4 631 3.0ghz w/stock cooler Core 2 Duo e4600 2.4gHz with a Scythe Mini Ninja cooler w/o the fan; very quiet!
Case: Antec nsk2480
RAM: 2GB OCZ Gold Enhanced Latency
HDD: 2 500GB Western Digital green drives
DVD: Plextor DVD burner
MOBO: EVGA e-7150/630i GPU Motherboard (112-CK-NF77-A1)

Tuner: FusionHDTV 7 RT Gold w/FusionRemote
OS: Ubuntu 8.04 running MythTV 0.21 (frontend/backend), the latest v4l version from the repo
Yes, the FusionHDTV 7 RT Gold works (still working on the remote)! It was only recognized after updating v4l to the latest version, though. After rebooting, MythTV recognized the card chipsets and I was able to get capturing working immediately. I initially set up the tuner using the DVB-T option as the card in mythtv-setup, but it does also show up as the analog card. I have not had time to dig through all the options to see what I can do, just yet.
Ran channel scans and was able to grab some digital/OTA HDTV video. Processor was working quite a bit at this point, during both recording and playback. While the system is very quiet during regular usage, the fan on the stock cooler got pretty loud during recording and playback. I will eventually swap out to a lower wattage CPU, likely a Core 2 Duo and I already have a good cooler waiting (a Scythe Ninja Mini) for when I do.
For some unknown reason, I was unable to access my SchedulesDirect account to pull listings. mythfilldatabase output showed a lot of "unauthorized" errors, though I know the username and password is correct. Note: I'm currently in the 7-day free trial period for SD. I bought a years subscription to Schedules Direct, which seems to work OK, even though I had to manually enter some channels as they just wouldn't show using a scan or via SD.
The plan is to eventually swap out all non-environmentally friendly parts for greener parts. The power supply, hard drives, MOBO and tuner card are all green and/or RoHS certified, already. Will also need to run ethernet through the house so that I can avoid the infrequent drops in wireless connectivity.
