Introduction

This page is dedicated to the upcoming Linux DVB API Version 4, which is hosted in the "dvb-kernel-v4" tree of the public CVS.

Background information

There should be way more information on this page, but unfortunately time is the limiting factor. 8-(

In order to make it easier for people to understand what all this is about we suggest to read the following documents:

  • Linux DVB API v4 documentation snapshot: The current API documentation can only be generated from the source code. From time to time, we will release snapshots of the documentation in http://linuxtv.org/downloads/linux-dvb-api-v4/.

The latest version is dated 2005/03/15 http://linuxtv.org/downloads/linux-dvb-api-v4/linux-dvb-api-v4-0-2.pdf

CE Linux Conference

The Consumer Electronics Linux Forum (CELF, http://www.celinuxforum.org/) is a California non-profit corporation and is focused on the advancement of Linux as an open source platform for consumer electronics (CE) devices.

The annual technical conference took place in San Jose, California, USA. More informations about the event can be found on the offical CE Linux Technical Conference page: http://tree.celinuxforum.org/pubwiki/moin.cgi/TechnicalConference

On January, 26th, Michael Hunold gave a presentation about the current status of the Linux DVB API v4, which is clearly targeted towards embedded platforms running DVB and Digital TV. Thanks to Toshiba Electronics Europe (TEE) for making both the trip and the presentation possible!

A revised version of the presentation slides can be found in the download section under the linux-dvb-api-v4/ directory within a PDF file. You can download it directly using this link: http://linuxtv.org/downloads/linux-dvb-api-v4/celf_2005_01_linux_dvb_v4.pdf
