Pinnacle Systems Inc, founded in Mountain View, California, in 1986, is a designer and manufacturer of PC based analog and digital video capture devices.

Pinnalce concentrated mostly on video post-production products and tools up until 1997, but later expanded their product capabilities through purchase of video capture technology specialist miro Digital Video Products.

Notable Pinnacle video capture products include the Dazzle and PCTV product lines. The origin of the PCTV name itself can be traced back to a single device from miro; the miroMEDIA PCTV.

Pinnacle itself was acquired, in August 2005, by Avid Technology, Inc, under whose ownership it continues to operate as a standalone division. On October 29, 2008, Avid in turn sold their Pinnacle PCTV product range and related assets to Hauppauge, with the transaction expected to close before the end of Q4 2008. Hauppauge is apparently intending to continue to market the Pinnacle range of devices under the PCTV brand line, see pctvsystems
