Electronic Program Guides (DVB-SI)

I'm looking to contribute some programming time to supporting DVB under Linux 
(although not until August) and was wondering what the status is of an EPG 
application for Linux.

Does the Siemens driver support extraction of the service information data 
for producing an EPG display?  Or is specific support not necessary (I don't 
know enough about the details of DVB yet).

Is anyone working on it?
