[linux-dvb] Re: VDR fast forward problem

Apparently I have received this message privately yesterday (which I have
responded to), but the list message arrived here only today. So I'm posting
my private response here...

I have checked this, but it would appear that the index always points to the
right position.

Example: Index 8135313 ->

 8135313 E0 video  2042 07 FA 80 80 05 23 D7 67 5D EB pts: 5651495869696  21504
 8135327 B3 sequence_header
 8135467 B5 extension_start
 8135477 B8 group_of_pictures_header - time_code: 27:17:36.10 closed_gop: 0 broken_link: 0
 8135485 00 picture_header - temporal_reference:    1  picture_coding_type: 1
 8135493 B5 extension_start
 8135502 01 slice 2B 7E 1F 63 58 34 67 A7 50 A2 1B 4C 3A B5 1B 55 B5 4F 1E CA
 8136347 02 slice 23 7E 1F 69 5A 31 67 A4 CA 14 43 68 8A 94 20 96 D4 5D 54 F2

The numbers in the index file of course always point to the beginning of a video
packet, maybe that's the offset you mean? But then again, that would have been
the same in the old version.

Maybe I'm missing something, can you elaborate your theory?
