A quick thought:

Two "upper" drivers:
- av7110
- budget

Many "lower" helper drivers:
- v4l2 interface (for av7110 and knc1-like budget cards)
- budget receive path (disables av7110 receive path if necessary?)
- msp430 ir receiver
- anything I forgot?

Perhaps this can be done like I described above. Please be patient, I'm
currently busy learning, but I'll have a look at it in a free minute.
