[linux-dvb] No video device found

Hi,

after starting vdr an error occurs: No video device found, giving up!

According to the various postings it appears to be a driver problem. The OS is SuSE 8.1, the kernel is SuSE's. I use the driver issued on 28.12.2002.
Some time ago somebody else had a similar problem with an older kernel and an older driver. It had to do with different versions of videodev.c and videodev.h.
Unfortunately I have no programming experience (at least not in this area) and so I have no idea what to do to fix the problem.

Has anybody a idea how to resolve this problem. I would help a lot.

Regards

Klaus Demleitner

NB Trying to cat /dev/video returns 'Invalid argument'.
