[linux-dvb] Re: Broken HW ?

No, I've shut the PC down before plugging the cable, but as I
added, it was hooked to the loop-through of my C+ receiver, which
happened to automatically power-up itself on schedule while the
PC was on with the card inside, so this might have done something
bad, maybe related to the LNB power.

The satellite dish is a common installation shared amongst all people
in the building, so I've no control over it. The signal reception quality is
not so good because of way too long cabling, but the DVBs card got
the most out of this not-so-good signal whereas the digital C+
descrambler is a piece of sh*t when compared to DVBs, which
managed to get many channels more, and channel switching was
really fast... I will miss you DVBs... May you rest in peace.

But I still don't understand why this broken DVB card prevents my
PCs from booting and displaying, and responding to power button...

I thought it was an IRQ conflict or something like that going wrong,
but after having tried in my second computer, I think it's really a HW
problem.

Oh crap...

Does someone know if I can test (and eventually replace) HW
components on this card ?

I'm afraid I can't, since I bought this card about a year and a half...
And I don't think I'm going to buy another one, it's so expensive,
and if they break as easily as my first one...
