Hi, works here fine with Hauppauge 2.1 DVB-S and Siemens 1.5 DVB-C.
Tuning is much faster with ttxtsubs-plugin specially to none-text
channels. Previously there was about 20 " ttxtsubs: read: timeout!"
lines, now only 3 or 4.
The number of timeouts has nothing to do with whether there
is text or not, it must be something else that makes a
difference.

That message means that the reading of the Service Information
data, the one which says where the text is to be found, has timed
out (a 250 ms timeout), which it normally shouldn't do a lot,
at least it doesn't for me. It will time out if the frontend
doesn't lock to a channel or anything else happens that inhibits
the data, like for example an antenna motor rotating the antenna,
I guess, or just a frontend that doesn't lock.

I don't understand how the I2C patch could make the tuning take
about 1 instead of 5 seconds (which this should be), but maybe
something more comes into play here.

(Yes, that code should be rewritten so that it isn't modal,
but I haven't spent any time on it since I am hoping for
getting this info from VDR in the future instead of digging
it out myself, but I should probably implement a simple cache
in the mean time.)
