The MAC on my card is also so long. Using dvbnet and ifconfig I just ignore
the last two numbers.

I too have have a status 1b with the skystar2 and loose a lot of data. If
I remove the skystar2 and put in a nova-s the status is 1f and I do not
loose so much data with the same signal.
