[linux-dvb] Re: KNC1 Driver Loading Problem

Hi Ralph,

Thanks for the prompt response.
I've tried making the adjustment you suggested, with no obvious improvement.
For completeness I have repeated the test on a different pc, 2.4GHz P4. The
results are:-

Setting 3200 (Default)
femon, szap and femon typically 6% system cpu load each

Setting 6400
Same as above

Going the other way
Setting 60
femon, szap and femon typically 15-20% system cpu load each, going upto 60%

On all three I noticed that there was at times a lack of responsive on the
KDE desktop, ie the mouse movement became jerky.

Can I help provide anymore information or help in anyway with the testing?

Regards,
Bob.

Our last released version still used the slower I2C timing. Since it
appears to work with all hardware now (after fixing some timing
related problems which then showed up elsewhere) we also
use the faster timing now.
When I get around to it, I will release a new version which includes
the faster I2C timing and also has 2.6 support using the standard
kernel I2C drivers and has proper handling of the KNC1.
You could also just adjust it in driver/av7110/saa7146_core.c
(the line with SAA7146_I2C_BBR) and see if that already fixes
your problem.

Ralph
