[linux-dvb] TT DVB-C 2.1 Tuning problems

Hi!

I have a very annoying problem with my Technotrend DVB-C 2.1 card, it almost always takes two
attempts to tune a channel.

This is after loading the drivers (latest cvs)
pvr2 build-2.6 # czap "bbc world"
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
 36 BBC World:314000000:INVERSION_AUTO:6875000:FEC_NONE:QAM_64:4130:4386:1019
 36 BBC World: f 314000000, s 6875000, i 2, fec 0, qam 3, v 0x1022, a 0x1122
status 1f | signal 9696 | snr e3e3 | ber 00029220 | unc ffffffff | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ffff | snr eded | ber 00029220 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ffff | snr eeee | ber 00029220 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ffff | snr eeee | ber 0003b97a | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ffff | snr eeee | ber 0003b97a | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ffff | snr eded | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ffff | snr eded | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ffff | snr eded | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK

All i did now was killing czap and wrote the above.
pvr2 build-2.6 # czap "bbc world"
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
 36 BBC World:314000000:INVERSION_AUTO:6875000:FEC_NONE:QAM_64:4130:4386:1019
 36 BBC World: f 314000000, s 6875000, i 2, fec 0, qam 3, v 0x1022, a 0x1122
status 00 | signal d4d4 | snr 6f6f | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 |
status 00 | signal ffff | snr afaf | ber 00000000 | unc ffffffff |
status 00 | signal ffff | snr afaf | ber 00000000 | unc ffffffff |
status 00 | signal ffff | snr a5a5 | ber 009ffff6 | unc ffffffff |
status 00 | signal ffff | snr adad | ber 009ffff6 | unc ffffffff |
status 00 | signal ffff | snr abab | ber 009ffff6 | unc ffffffff |

And on the next attempt again it will tune most of the times.
pvr2 build-2.6 # czap "bbc world"
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
 36 BBC World:314000000:INVERSION_AUTO:6875000:FEC_NONE:QAM_64:4130:4386:1019
 36 BBC World: f 314000000, s 6875000, i 2, fec 0, qam 3, v 0x1022, a 0x1122
status 1f | signal 9797 | snr e3e3 | ber 009ffff6 | unc ffffffff | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ffff | snr eeee | ber 009ffff6 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ffff | snr eded | ber 009ffff6 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ffff | snr eeee | ber 0003c924 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK

status 1f | signal ffff | snr eded | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal ffff | snr eeee | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK

Tuning the same channel again or a different one makes no difference, there is another thread
with the same card and same country/cable provider (comhem in sweden) http://www.mail-
archive.com/linux-dvb@linuxtv.org/msg14939.html the original poster also has bad reception and
i experience this in one computer in both linux and windows but on another i get great
reception in linux and windows.

In windows i never have the tuning problem so i really don't know what to do next, any help is
appreciated.
