[vdr] Re: Child protection / access control module



Hi All,
wouldn't the unique channel id , discussed in  a previous thread solve the
issue  for timers lost because of a different channels.conf
another solution would be why not storing the  whole info about recordings ,
channel frequency etc... in a segregate timer list.
IMHO the way I see the thing:
whenever u decide to record something u pick up all relevant and needed info
from the existing channel.conf parents or child (its a one line of
parameters, freq, vid pid, aud pid , channel id etc...) store it within the
timers file, this way even if u change thereafter the channel.conf  i.e from
parents to child VDR can still locate the channel for due recording on a
secondary card

Sorry if this solution is too complicated but brainstorming is the key of
soft evolution (darwin-win)
