I am very sorry for you. To my recordings happened the same one time.

Since then I always do two changes to new VDR sources:

1. Prevent deletion of cutted recordings (starting with '%')
2. On cutting, change priority of cutted recording automatically
   to 99.

Since then I never ever got the same problem. I had to do this because I
don't want to loose about 1 TB of recordings I currently have on disks
for permanent storage.

This will not help you now, but it will probably help in the future.
