laatuv | Hello, I have a problem. I have a camera OV2732 which is connected to rockchip ISP (3399). Everything seems to work just fine when the machine has been started, but once the machine is once suspended (goes to sleep), afterwards I am not receiving any interrupts anymore to rkisp1 driver so nothing is read from the buffer. I have checked that ov2732 has powers on and I can read rationale data from it's registers. v4l2 is called from gstr
This might not even be the correct place to ask, but I am trying my luck Kernel 6.6 is in use | [06:45] |
jmondi | laatuv: is ov2732 supported mainline or are you using a vendor driver ? | [06:46] |
laatuv | There is ov2732.c available in mainline where I have added some extra debug prints | [06:47] |
jmondi | maybe I'm not awake yes, but I checked v6.9-rc5 and the most recent media-tree and staging trees and I don't see that driver
s/yes/yet | [06:50] |
laatuv | Oh my, you are totally right
This is a good step forward to check if there are updates from the vendor to this driver Thank you! :) As previously this worked just fine with kernel 5.4 | [06:53] |
jmondi | you might also want to check what patches went in for rkisp1 between kernel 5.4 and kernel 6.6 | [06:56] |
*** | mvaittin has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 480 seconds) | [06:58] |
laatuv | rkisp1 actually is a new driver in kernel. Came after the 5.4, previously we had vendor offered driver which by far looks pretty different when I compared them. However, I do believe that a driver from mainline should be working and verified better than the one which vendor offered few years ago
We also experienced some mysterious crashes in that vendor offered driver which is one of the main reasons to try out this new kernel mainline provided driver instead | [06:58] |

_0andriy_ | hansg: Hi. I have sent a few (three) patches against AtomISP, and I saw your PRs and Mauro's acrivity, but I'm a bit lost of the state of affairs. Do you have any outstanding patches? (I rebased last week against your media-atomisp branch.) | [09:56] |
hansg | Hi _0andriy_ I picked up all your atomisp patches from a while ago (from before my PR) and Mauro has merged those all now. I've just done a forced push to my media-atomisp branch with the latest state of things (Mauro likes to cherry-pick patches from pull-reqs instead of merging, so no fast-forward)
I have "media: atomisp: Clean up unused macros from math_support.h" "media: atomisp: Replace COMPILATION_ERROR_IF() by static_assert()" and "media: atomisp: Remove unused GPIO related defines and APIs" in my queue to merge the next time I get around to processing atomisp patches | [09:59] |
_0andriy_ | hansg: Thank you!
hansg: which day you usually push the stuff out to kernel, org? | [10:01] |
hansg | atomisp is a side project, so whenever I get around to work on it. For pdx86 I try to do review + merging on Mondays, but atomisp stuff doesn't really have a scheduled day. | [10:04] |
_0andriy_ | hansg: noted. No pushes than :-)
however I would like to speed up bulding a bit (I'm already annoyed enough after enabling ATOMISP modules), which might require a fast track (kinda), but the patch itself is not cooked yet as it may be not trivial. | [10:15] |
hansg | _0andriy_, for linux-media patches the window to get patches into 6.10-rc1 has pretty much already closed. So there is no need in rushing things. | [10:22] |
