can't make my galaxis dvb-s work at all

hi list!

yesterday, i received my new galaxis dvb-s and tried to make it run
under Suse Linux7.0 but had no luck! i tried the
latest siemens-dvb-0.7.1 drivers with Kernel 2.4.0-test7. (tried
test8 also.) i compiled and loaded the drivers, compiled libdvb and
gVideo and copied .dvbrc and .gvideorc to ~. at last i chmod 666
/dev/video* and vbi and starte gVideo.

as soon as i press [return] the hole system hangs for about 18 seconds
then there is some output on stdout like:

after 2 more sec. the gVideo GUI is fully visible but the programm
hangs (it even doesn't update its contents after iconifying).

after pressing ctrl-c the system delays for 18 sec. before gVideo
gets killed.

btw. gtk version is 1.2.8

has anybody seen this before?
