You have to extract it from the vcd so that you get a normal MPEG1
file (i.e. without the extra padding) and then you can just pipe it
into /dev/video. There is a program called vcdrip in the latest
vcdimager package (look for it at freshmeat) that can do the
extraction.
MPEG1 files should play as long as they don't have some kind of
strange resolution and aspect ratio. VCD files should be ok.
