I'd be interested in a tip about that, too. I smbmounted the
video-directory on another station, and it looks like this:
/video
/video/Zapping_der_Woche
/video/Zapping_der_Woche/2001-~-J.REC
/video/timers.conf
/video/keys-pc.conf
/video/channels.conf
/video/epg.data
/video/Tagesschau
/video/Tagesschau/2001-~-6.REC
/video/setup.conf
/video/@CINE_COMEDY
/video/@CINE_COMEDY/2001-~6T.REC
as opposed to the version on the server:
/video
/video/Zapping_der_Woche
/video/Zapping_der_Woche/2001-05-19.19:54.99.99.rec
/video/Zapping_der_Woche/2001-05-19.19:54.99.99.rec/summary.vdr
/video/Zapping_der_Woche/2001-05-19.19:54.99.99.rec/002.vdr
/video/Zapping_der_Woche/2001-05-19.19:54.99.99.rec/index.vdr
/video/Zapping_der_Woche/2001-05-19.19:54.99.99.rec/001.vdr
/video/timers.conf
/video/keys-pc.conf
/video/channels.conf
/video/epg.data
/video/Tagesschau
/video/Tagesschau/2001-05-19.19:59.99.99.rec
/video/Tagesschau/2001-05-19.19:59.99.99.rec/002.vdr
/video/Tagesschau/2001-05-19.19:59.99.99.rec/index.vdr
/video/Tagesschau/2001-05-19.19:59.99.99.rec/001.vdr
/video/setup.conf
/video/@CINE_COMEDY
/video/@CINE_COMEDY/2001-05-20.12:09.99.99.rec
/video/@CINE_COMEDY/2001-05-20.12:09.99.99.rec/index.vdr
/video/@CINE_COMEDY/2001-05-20.12:09.99.99.rec/001.vdr
I wasn't able to find anything about long filenames in the smb and/or
smbmount manpages - any hints? using NFS resulted in a mere desaster :(
besides that, I'm having stability problems, too (Linux 2.4.2, CVS
DVB-driver, vdr (0.80pre5, IIRC)) .. using reiserfs might be my biggest
fault here. has anyone tested XFS yet?

You don't have to change the world... to change the world. You're either part
of the problem, part of the solution, or part of the scenery. Only you decide.
