yup, could be easily. i used playdvd from the dvdplayer package as a 
start and have not too much experience with dvdplayer by now.

i c. yep, you will have problems with some dvds vob files anyway, 
because vts_01_1.vob could be the trailer/ads and *_2.vob starts the 
real movie etc.
