[linux-dvb] Antwort: [offtopic] Error 139 while loading driver
Hi Jonny,
I had the same problem but it was gone after I put the Card in a Win98
box. I installed drivers and software and it worked. After that I put it
back in my Linux box. There were no errors since that. - But donīt ask me
why...
Maybe thatīs it....

Thema: [linux-dvb] [offtopic] Error 139 while loading driver
Hi,
some days ago, I watched TV on my Linux box using the dvb driver.
Suddendly, the machine completely crashed. I rebooted it and tried
to load the driver again, but I only got these messages:
[...]
insmod dvb.o init_chan=2 pids_off=0 readfirm=1; \
)
Using /lib/modules/2.4.2-2/kernel/drivers/i2c/i2c-core.o
Using /lib/modules/2.4.2-2/kernel/drivers/media/video/videodev.o
make: *** [insmod] Error 139
Might the dvb board be defective? Or could this be a software error?
These are the syslog messages I'm getting:

Of course there was no hardware/BIOS reconfiguration...
I'm running RedHat 7.1 without any patches. And I tried different
dvb driver versions, but the result was always the same.
Cheers, Jonny, jonny@1409.org
