[linux-dvb] ts2ps works only sometimes
Hi everybody,
today I had a few short moments of great pleasure, after my TT budget PCI
showed me the first few seconds of a tv-programme.
Sad but true - since then I am trying to reproduce this with only very
little success.
I got it working with that small script, PSIplus published here at the
beginning of this month. It is simply piping ts2ps on /dev/ost/dvr via
buffer to mplayer. BTW: Thanx for that script, Marcus.
But since then mplayer won't come up with a picture although I haven't
changed a thing. mplayer comes up, sais "Playing - Reading from
stdin..." and does nothing more.
I tried to investigate and found, that "cat /dev/ost/dvr > stream.ts"
fills the file. Using "streamtype stream.ts" states, it is a TS-STREAM,
SIZE:720x576 ... PAL, MPEG2. So far, everything seems to be correct.
Then I tried to convert this file with ts2ps to a PS-Stream, using
"ts2ps stream.ts 0 0 | cat > stream.ps" and this isn't working in most
cases. Only twice (out of at least 30 times) this command filled the
output-file with an mpeg2-stream, which I could view with mplayer.
Does everybody know an explanation for this strange behaviour?
