Do you have any firewall running on your machine?

I ran into trouble using SuSE's personalFirewall and heard from other
people that SuSEfirewall2 causes the same problems. AFAIR, both
firewalls seem to drop UDP-Packets without any notice if they are not
the result of a DNS-Query. I had to remove the personalFirewall
completely from my system to get things running. Only stopping the FW
had no effect.
