I can confirm this for my DVB-S Nexus 2.1, too.
Perhaps this is due to my setup: DVB-S connected to a DiSEqC switch.

Tuning is faster w/o zig-zag scan. Sometimes, if zig-zag scan is 
enabled, the DVB-S never gets a lock and the FE thread zig-zags forever.
After disabling zig-zag scan, this never happened again.

Anyway, I talked to a service guy of a LNB manufacturer and was told
that LNB drift should not be an issue at all, since the tuner chip 
should be able to compensate for that...

So making this a insmod option would be great.
