[linux-dvb] Re: TT DVB-T - Further problems
Does this only happen if you tune to a certain channel? How is the signal
strength of the different channels if you use tzap? Does it help to tune back
to another channel?
No, the signal strength looks ok, and I can just flick around between a
few channels to make it happen (BBC channels). However, you may be
right that the signal strength is a factor. I have noticed that it is
*more likely* to happen when flicking to some of the other channels, but
this may be coincidence.
Also, sometimes, what has happened is that I change to a channel, it
looks like it has crashed, but then I change back and it gets rescued (I
change fairly quickly). But usually, once I change channel, get a black
screen, then it stays dead. Changing channels with vdr and tzap don't
bring it back to life...
Output from tzap for one channel is:
status 1f | signal 3838 | snr 0000 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 |
FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal 3838 | snr 0000 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 |
FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal 3636 | snr 0000 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 |
FE_HAS_LOCK
status 1f | signal 3637 | snr 0000 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 |
FE_HAS_LOCK
I remember that this happend also here, when DVB-T still
was on test in Berlin. It looked like a crash of the frontends internal
system controller. That's why I would like to know if this also happens with
the windows driver, because then it could be a SP8870 firmware problem. I
tried to change the code to get a better reset of the system controller, but
didn't succeed. I think just reloading the dvb-ttpci module helped. Can you
find out if that's the same on your machine? Or do you have to reload all
modules?
I haven't yet tried these yet. I will give it a try as you say. I
assume that narrowing it down to dvb-ttpci is a start?
I will try the windows driver as well and try to reproduce. It will be
tomorrow evening before I can report back now though.
Thanks for your interest!
