I can confirm that I have seen it recover from these lockups once or twice
(rarely though), but I can't comment as to whether this is because of the
fix or not...  I do suspect that it only locks when changing to a different
mux stream through, not when you simply retune to a different channel within
a single mux.

I suspect that doesn;t help much though...

Try taking out as much extra stuff from your machine as possible, eg all PCI
cards, and fans (temporarily).  See if this make a difference...  Perhaps it
is a chipset issue also.  I have a via 686 based dual SMP machine.  Power
supply is adequate.
