I've been compiling DVB cvs for 2.4.21-0.13mdk (mandrake 9.1 kernel).
Using zapping to overlay the hw-decoded video onto the screen which
uses a v4l device.
This works fine on the primary head (an ati card), but it does not
work on the secondary head (an nvidia card). The motion picture
is visible but it looks like (b)lue is missing completely, so it's
all in green/red (iik).
I've been playing with different color resultions for the x11 heads
but with no success. Interestingly, chaining the video from the
tv output through to the video input of a bttv card (being also in
the system) it works, in other words, the bttv driver can display
equally on both heads in correct colors. (so I guess it's not
particularly a problem of the x11 drivers but one of the dvb driver).
Interestingly, after open/close the bttv card to view the video
stream, it looks like the dvb driver has gone broke, none of the
dvb's videodevs can be openend anymore. Even though I did put up
some debug=* flags as modparms, the log/messages don't show
anything conclusive. Horribly, the szap still works, so the
frontend devices work while the video viewer fails to open the
dvb's allocated videodev.
Hints? Btw, I have another dvb-s budget card at hand, so my system
might serve as a good kricket ground to look into multihead and
multicard setups, well so, actually I am not surprised to see some
problems to exist ;-) I am just new to these things, ye know, so
some hints would be really appreciated. (okay, I'm not that new,
doing some mpeg processing somewhen earlier in my live and I've tried
to compile the dvb/cvs drivers for quite a while [about two years]
but with no success. Now that it works, I could look actually a bit
deeper into it...).
