[linux-dvb] Playing Video Only

Is there a way to play just the video from a particular ES in mplayer. I
know you can play just audio with:

dvbstream -f FREQ -o APID | ts2es APID | mp123 -b 128

but:

dvbstream -f FREQ -o VPID | ts2es VPID | mplayer -cache 2048 -

doesn't work. I'm sure I heard somewhere that the timing information is
kept in the audio stream so it may not be possible.
