The truly correct answer is yes, you can access it, but it will be as a series 
of images and textfiles in a /tmp directory... the DSMCC plugin for VDR will 
decode the MHEG5 carousels that 'digital teletext' is broadcast using...

However, there is currently no integrated way to render these files to an 
on-screen TV display via VDR. Think of it as saving a webpage to hard disk, 
but having no web browser to view them.

There are a few Java-based MHEG5 decoders on the 'Net which are free to use, 
and integrating oneof these into a VDR plugin is on the TODO list for the 
DSMCC plugin developers, but time is always the problem :)

So, if adverts for holidays and a crappy TV guide are very important, then 
you'll need to stick to using your Windows software :)
