Hi all,
So I've got a pinnacle pctv sat(dvb-s) card and I would like to use it
for surfing in the internet via satellite. I've got the driver working
more and less but I have still a problem for which I couldn't find
anything on the net that could solve it.
I have compiled the dvb-kernel drivers using a recent cvs version(I have
linux kernel 2.4.20) and I modprobed both cx24110 and dvb-bt8xx. It
seems to be successful recognized as dmesg states:
DVB: registering new adapter (Pinnacle PCTV DVB-S).
DVB: registering frontend 0:0 (Conexant CX24110 with CX24108 tuner, aka
HM1221/HM1811)...
Trying to tune it to the T-DSL Sat frequence seems to work too:
# dvbtune -c 0 -f 10773250 -p H -s 22000 -i
Using DVB card "Conexant CX24110 with CX24108 tuner, aka HM1221/HM1811"
tuning DVB-S to L-Band:-1073742764, Pol:H Srate=22000000, 22kHz=off

But when I try to bring the network device up, nothing seems to be fine..
# dvbtune -n 251
Failed to open DVB NET DEVICE
I have created the device nodes in /dev using makedev.napi and these
seem to be allright too..

I really absolutely don't have any idea what I could do. Is this a
driver problem or did I simply forget a little detail? It seems that the
card is working fine but that it can't be used as a network device which
is necessary for ipviasky. The card is working fine under Windows but I
don't want it to be used there ;)
Hope someone can help me out!
Thanks in forward,
André.
