[linux-dvb] margi2
hello.
i'm not sure if this is the correct mailing list, but...
i've been trying to get my margi dvd-to-go decoder card to work with RedHat
linux 9 and kernel 2.4.20-18.9.
i noticed right away that the links for the margi driver do not work... so
i'm assuming the driver is no longer being developed? i found the margi2
module in CVS, and i checked it out while in the pcmcia-cs-3.2.4 directory.
i then copied the appropriate file from the margi2 directory into the
pcmcia-cs-3.2.4 directory. i successfully compiled and installed the
drivers. when i insert the card into the pcmcia slot, i get an error about
the non-GPL license and the kernel being tainted as a result of loading one
of the modules (the first one, whichever that one is).
so, is the linux driver for the margi dvd-to-go decoder card a dead issue
now? noone is maintaining it? is there a fix for this problem of tainting
the kernel? i'd work on it myself, but i'm just a stupid engineer... does
anyone have answers??
dan
