[linux-dvb] Saa7146 card doesn't work
Hello,
I have a Technotrend DVB-S 1.6 (or 1.3??) card, and want to use it with linux.
so, i installed the latest kernel (tried it with 2.6.2 and 2.6.3rc4) with
this options enabled:
* video for linux
Digital Video Broadcasting Devices ->
* DVB for Linux
* STV0299 based DVB-s frontend
* Frontends with Connexant CX24110 demodulator
* Grundig 29504-491
* Grundig 29504-401
* Zarlink MT312
* Frontends with VES1893 ...
<M> AV7110
* AV7110 OSD supprt
Then I downloaded the neede firmware for this card and try modprobing the
card. (modprobe dvb-ttpci) The system logged this infos:
saa7146: register extension 'dvb'.
saa7146: found saa7146 @ mem cfa45000 ( revision 1, irq5) (0x13c2, 0x0000).
DVB: registering new adapter(Siemens/Technotrend/Hauppauge PCI rev1.3).
DVB: registering frontend 0:0 (Grundig 29504-491, (TDA8083 based))...

DVB: AV7111(0) - firmware supports CI link layer interface
av7111(0): Crystal audio DAC detected
videodev: "av7110" has no release callback. Please fix your driver for proper
sysfs...
saa7146_vv: saa7146 (0): registered device video0 [v4l2]
av7110: found av7110-0.
input.agent[8237]: ... no modules for INPUT product 0/0/0/0
then, i execute v4l-conf:
v4l-conf: using framebuffer device /dev/fb0
mode 800x600....
/dev/video0 [v4l2]: configuration done
but now, if i trie to scan the frequencies with scantv, a get following error
after inserting my configuration (pal/tnsc, frequency table):
"device has no tuner, exiting"
perhaps only a module in the kernel missing?
lspci gives following infos to this dvb card:
00:14.0 Multimedia controller: phillips Semiconductors SAA7146 (rev 01)
thanks very much for help,
Simon Funke
