Have you tried
scan -5 ./dvb-t/uk-Sudbury
The -5 switch makes for longer timeouts. The Nova-T takes a long time to tune and the -5 flag multiples the timeouts by 5. Worked for me ...

Thanks for the reply. I tried the -5 option to extend the timeout limit
but I kept getting exactly the same error. Also, the errors was printed
after the same amount of time regardless of whether I used the -5 option
or not.
