mpeg2 libs

Trying to install a software dvd player for linux but I keep getting
messages that some mpeg library files (all with *.h extensions) are
missing.  Currently I'm seeking mpeg2private.h,...if you know of a good
site or app download with these lib files available, please send me the
link.
