[mpeg2] some more details (no init for kfir on 2.4.0)
more info:
I looked at a couple of other factors.
- First, I tried the card in a Windows 98 box just to make sure it
worked; it did, the driver loaded without trouble and the
application visiontech provides for 98 loaded and recognized the
card. It could even tell whether a signal was hooked up or not. I
didn't try anything more with it.
- Next, I noticed that on the Linux machine I was using, sometimes
when it booted, the onboard USB controller was taking the same IRQ as
the Kfir card. I'm not loading a driver for the USB, but just in
case, I turned off the onboard USB and pulled all the other cards,
only leaving in network, video, and the Kfir card. On this next
boot, both lspci -vv, and /proc/interrupts showed that the Kfir had
an IRQ that no one else was using.
I tried loading the driver and I got the same resonse:
"ADSP loading failed!"
- I also tried loading the i2c and videodev modules that were provided
with the kfir driver just in case they were different than what I
had in the 2.4.0 tree. This also produced the same results.
Anything else I can try?
