i.m afraid looking in the mailinglist archives maybe
won.t help you.
i have a grundig vdr as well (imho the gv540 is a vdr).
THIS remote control WON.T work very well with lirc.
i always had problems with grundig remotes. i had to
wait 2s before i could repress any button. but this
was no lirc specific problem. (i had that problem with
other teachable remotes as well.)

maybe there is a way to make it work with lirc.
but my suggestion: buy a different cheap universal
remote for vdr. :))
