It would be even cooler if you could remote program VDR... 
tvtv.de offers this service for FAST-Dazzle, Intervideo and MGITV.

Is there any "open standard" for remote vdr/vcr-programming?
Guess not... maybe VDR could "imitate" one of the above ones...
