I never had problems with "The Matrix" (not with 0.91 nor with 0.96 I
watched it last time) But maybe there are different versions of the DVD.

the "Wild Wild West" I had from a videothek ("Deutscher Videoring") got
out of sync at the beginning of every new chapter (audio was too early)

BTW, I don't use any AC3, just the A/V out of the DVB card.
