Why should you need a fast CPU for transfering about 500 KB/s over the
network?

Softwaredecoding needs about the power of a 500 MHz Celeron. I would
assume that with appropriate buffering a 600-700 MHz Celoron or Duron
should be ok. With hardware decoding you need much less.

Emil
