i think i will be faster but not fast enough. perhaps a 800 mhz computer 
would work (because you have to decode divx and encode to mpg which needs 
400mhz for divx + ...mhz for mpg :-(   )

but i think it would be very nice to integrate the mplayer menu with the 
"dummy files" into the normal recordingsmenu even if encoding is fast enough
