VDR releases /dev/ost/videoX & /dev/ost/audioX before starting
mplayer. X depends on which device is your primary device. If
X!=0 mplayer will not work.

But as you have only one card, all should be fine for you.

What you could try, is to use 'lsof /dev/ost/video0' inside
mplayer.sh and watch the output. This should list the process
which have opened the device.

Or does mplayer uses other devices than video & audio?
