It did work this way before the driver switched to the new api.
For a quick test try to just give vdr the files like it expects 
recordings, that is as 001.vdr in a directory named like exactly like 
the ones of recordings.
If you can start the recording, then you could  use genindex for beeing 
able to navigate.
