One way out would be to organize the recordings and maybe the timers too in a
real data base with maybe sql-standard. This will have additional benefits as
you can manage your recordings from every device able to act as a db-client.
But AFAIS this is a deep change and will rather lead to a version 2 of VDR.
But nevertheless a nice idea awaiting more and more capacitis of new HD's.
