Hi,
someone interested on an overworked ac3play version.
Beside an included manual page this version is able to use
IEC 958 professional mode, uses the hardware ring buffer of
ALSA 0.9.0 and read in nonblocking mode from standard input
to be able to pause during ff, fb, and pause of vdr...
Short look on the help screen:
Usage: ac3play <options> [file]
Available options:
-h, --help this help
-v, --version print version of this program
-C, --iec958c raw IEC958 (S/P-DIF) consumer mode
-P, --iec958p raw IEC958 (S/P-DIF) professional mode
-D, --hwdev=#,# select card and hw device by numbers
-c, --card=#,# select card and hw device by numbers
-m, --mmap use memory mapping for PCM data transfer (default)
-i, --ioctl use ioctl for PCM data transfer
-b, --block use blocking read mode on stdin
-f, --frames=# number of pieces for the LPCM buffer (2...8, default 8)
-r, --## which sample rate (48000 the default, 44100, 32000)
Werner
