I could not agree more.

In fact, as I have mentioned in the past, vdr should even be
improved to use keys MORE consistently as opposed to LESS
consistently. 

As an example, you have to use different keys in the various
menus to get at the summary text: I believe in the timer menu
and in the schedules it is "Ok", in the recordings menu it 
is "Blue" and during playback it is not supported at all.

Stuff like that should be cleaned up, making vdr's GUI more
consistent and easier to learn and use - not the opposite.

While we are at it: I believe vdr is also lacking a "reset
to well-defined state" key.  As an example, there is no
way to remotely start an immediate recording via the hitk 
SVDRP interface.
