[vdr] will this computer work?

Voodoo 3 video card

256 MB ram

120 GB 5400 RPM HD (don't have this yet, want to know
if it is fast enough, that's as fast as my mother
board supports) for OS and video (could get a smaller
HD for OS though if it's needed)

Can I capture the sound without a sound card and just
transfer the video to another computer to view?

This is an old computer, I was going to use my main
system, but the apartment complex I live out has a new
rule against having small dishes.  They want everyone
to have cable, I guess some people think they're ugly.

Small obstacle however, I just have to get another
computer and put it at my parents house, they have
DishNetworks.

If this computer is too slow then I can just update, I
have enough money to build a whole new computer, but
have been getting into armature computer animation and
want to spend some on that.

Also, since this is all that is going to be on this
computer, what Distro is best for this?(I use RH)
