I really like being able to manage the timers.conf manually, with a text
editor, or via SVDRP. Therefore I wouldn't like to have to type something
like "19.2E-12345-28006" to set the channel in a timer. I know that in my
channels.conf, e.g, ZDF is channel number 14 - and that's way easier to
type and remember ;-)
Besides: there still have to be "normal" channel numbers, otherwise selecting
a channel by typing the number keys on the remote control would become next
to impossible.
